Nexxo S.A. is distinguished in the 2020 CCHC Honor Roll

Recently, Nexxo company achieved 4 stars in the 2020 version of the “Honor Roll in Occupational Safety and Health CChC,” an award presented by the Chilean Chamber of Construction – in conjunction with Mutual de Seguridad – to those member companies that, through continuous commitment and work, achieved the best results in occupational safety and health during the past year.

Specifically, the 4-star category of the Honor Roll implies a total accident rate for temporary incapacity equal to or less than 45% and an accident index equal to or less than 2%. Additionally, starting from this edition, a new requirement for participation was that companies had to have an occupational safety and health management system, certified by an accredited body and/or the respective mutual fund.

In the opinion of Rodrigo Vera, HSEC Manager at Nexxo, this distinction is the result of the work they have been developing as a company, since approximately three years ago they began, in collaboration with Mutual, a process to build the “Nexxo Safety Culture.” For this task, it was key to first socialize the idea at the company level and then engage in collaborative work with employees to define both the critical risks associated with different specialties and the precursors to serious and fatal accidents. In Rodrigo’s words: “A participatory and massive effort was made, from the bottom up, as we needed to value the main source of knowledge, which is the experience of those who make up Nexxo.”

This led us to modify our management tools and make them a living document, which not only serves to comply but also aims to actively prevent accidents. The above, along with the leadership of our management line, has allowed us to achieve these results, always striving to be consistent and coherent with what we preach.”
